Lessons from the road #3
Share This PostA good reminder of why we are riding visited me in the night.
Our daughter, plagued by a nightmare, woke me up before my early morning training alarm was set to get me up and on the road.
A quiet talk about a scary dream, getting snuggled back up in the blankets and Dad ‘standing watch’ until she fell asleep again set the world right in our small section of the world.
We are riding because we want there to be more homes filled with love and warm beds for children to fall back to sleep in. That the only fears in children’s lives are nightmares, not real nightmares that they can’t wake up from.
We are riding so that the ‘at risk’ and vulnerable in our society are truly seen and cared for.
And we are riding so that we know we have have done what has been asked of us instead of closing our hearts and our eyes.
We are riding to wake up our communities.
